As the year draws to a close, we take a look back at some of the achievements of the past 12 months, and what a 12 months it has been…

We’d like to kick our review off by saying a huge “thank you!” to all of our customers past and present. We couldn’t be prouder to have been in service to the people of Derby for over a decade and a half and we hope that we can continue to make a positive difference to people’s lives for many more years to come!

In 2018 alone, the Hannells family has grown from strength to strength with the addition of some fantastic new team members to both our residential sales and lettings divisions. We can truly say we have the best, most experienced and most dedicated team of property professionals around.

It’s not just us that think so either, Nicola Manning from our Allestree Branch and Amy Boole from our Chaddesden branch were awarded the two best estate agents in Derbyshire in 2018 by allAgents.co.uk, the estate and lettings agency industry review website.

On a more personal note we’ve had plenty of new additions to the Hannells family with three of our team becoming proud parents, Rebecca Mills back in June with her beautiful baby girl Elsie Rose, Lauren Taylor and the adorable Martha Dotty, and Rachel Beighton just a few weeks ago with the newest member of her family Albie Patrick! Cally Murphy from our Mickleover Branch has made 2018 a doubly special year by jetting off for her amazing wedding in Thailand and is expecting her first baby, just in time for Christmas!

2018 marked our first ‘HanFest’ an event to get the whole team together, enjoy a drink or two, have a chance to catch up and to celebrate the achievements of our amazing team. It was a great success and we hope to make this a regular event for the future.

Hannells were incredibly proud to have been the headline sponsor for the Hannells Darley Park Concert for the second year in a row. It was, yet again, another fantastic show and it was truly special to see people from all across Derby come together and enjoy a brilliant night of entertainment and fireworks together!

Our team has also been involved with various charities throughout the year, with our Marketing Manager James Long successfully taking part in the Macmillan Mighty Hike in July, walking 26.5 miles across the peak district and raising over £1,200 in the process.

Our own Founding Director, Michael Brain, played a key role in creating a fantastic Christmas single released in December and sung by the Children from Darley Abbey Old Vicarage and Walter Evans School choirs, with all proceeds going to local charities.

We’ve sponsored Chaddesden’s first Christmas tree and we’re putting on a super Christmas party for staff and their children from the A and E department at Royal Derby Hospital who will be working on Christmas day. We hope to do much more for great causes next year!

We’ve also had a fantastic year in a professional capacity.

2018 saw us become Derby’s highest rated Estate Agent on allAgents.co.uk, ranking us in the top 50 agents in the whole country for customer service!

In November we were named as the “Best Medium Sized Estate Agency” in the East Midlands at the prestigious EA Masters Awards in London. This was a delightful surprise and one that the whole team was truly, truly proud of.

It means that we’re in the top 1.5% of agents in the country, a feat achieved by no other Derby agent!

We have a big goal at Hannells to positively affect the lives of 10,000,000 people by delivering our complete moving experience!

It goes beyond just being an “estate agent” or “letting agent” and gives us a purpose and mission that brings the whole team together to deliver an experience far beyond what you’d get elsewhere.

We understand that when it comes to property, our customers are often starting a new chapter in their lives and we want to make sure that we help to start that new chapter in the best possible way.

Well, over the past 12 months we’ve positively affected the lives of over 2,800 people, by exchanging on the sales of over 960 properties, just in Derby alone. That’s just under £2 billion worth of property sales that Hannells has been responsible for!

We’ve helped over 6,700 people in the search for their new home and arranged over 22,270 viewings.

Our amazing Lettings team has grown into a strong positive force in the Lettings market in Derbyshire and beyond and have helped nearly 400 landlords find their great tenants and are helping them every day to get the most out of their property investment.

We’ve made a great start on our mission to make Derby smile! 2018 Saw the introduction of our new “smile” SOLD and NOW LET boards which we’ve received plenty of great comments about. We’d like to think it’s how our customers feel when they deal with us and hopefully it’s helping to bring a smile to people who happen to drive past.

But we won’t be stopping there, there’s still much more to come and 2019 is no doubt going to be another landmark year of this Derby born and bred, family run estate and lettings agency!
