HANNELLS is riding high after reporting record sales in September.
Managing director Benjamin Brain said: “September is traditionally a great month for the Derby property market because people are back from their holidays, the kids are back at school and everybody is settling back into their normal routine.
“We had expected September to be a busy month but even we were taken aback by the level of activity across all of our branches. We saw a 21%increase in viewings on the previous month and a phenomenal increase in sales of 29%. It is all great news for local buyers and sellers as it demonstrates that we continue to have a very buoyant market in Derby.”
However, accounts from across the rest of the country suggest that Hannells are bucking the trend as many agents report a slight cooling in general activity.
Benjamin continued: “We help more people move in Derby than any other agent, and the gap continues to grow week by week. Over the last 18 months, we’ve been concentrating heavily on how we can improve the buying and selling experience for each and every one of our customers. We’re on a relentless drive to show how it should be done.”
He added: “One thing I would urge people to do when reading reports of ‘cool-downs’ or ‘booms’ is to take them with a pinch of salt. Statistics and averages can be massively distorted by what is happening in other areas, such as London and the South. From what we see, the Derby market is strong and will continue to be for some time to come, even throughout November and December.”
The results at Hannells speak for themselves. In a recent independent survey, it was found that Hannells accounted for almost 40% of the total properties sold in Derby.
The company has also won numerous awards for marketing and customer service.
Benjamin says 2015 is already lining up to be a fantastic year for Hannells with some big plans already in place, which he says will take the company even further ahead of the field.
