After an incredible start to the year, the Derby property market is showing no signs of slowing down. If you haven’t already, check out our recent front page news article in the Derby Evening Telegraph by clicking the link below:
In our previous newsletter, we reported that there had been 305 newly listed properties during the course of the previous 14 days. It was an impressive start to the year that gave early signs of 2014 being a great year for the Derby property market. Since then, things have only become busier with 362 newly listed properties in Derby over the last two weeks. That’s an impressive increase of almost 20% and shows there is a lot of confidence, even in January, from buyers and sellers out there.
Including in those newly listed properties was a charming and most unique period two bedroom property in Mickleover. It’s beautifully presented throughout and surprisingly spacious with two double bedrooms and an en-suite bathroom:

For those lucky sellers (and many of them on the market with Hannells) that were able to find a buyer within the first two weeks of marketing, there were 39 in the last fortnight, compared to 36 in our last report towards the beginning of January.
So, how are things looking for the £300,000 plus market? Well, over the last two weeks, there were 206 newly listed properties across Derbyshire. It’s an impressive increase of 24% which shows that confidence in the market is also increasing at the higher end.
Including in these listings was this stunning five bedroom detached residence, also located on the Bonnie Prince estate in Chellaston. In fact, the property was so beautifully presented that our Chellaston team sold it to the very first viewer! They managed to snap themselves up a wonderful home. In other news from across the UK, recent figures have shown that 133,670 new homes were built in 2013 which is the highest it’s been since the star of the economic downturn in 2007. It’s a 28% increase on homes built in 2012 and the National House Building Council (NHBC) said the recovery was becoming increasingly “broad-based” rather than being concentrated only in London.
