Derby based, family run firm Hannells has smashed all company records so far this year for properties sold across their network of six Derby branches and, despite what you hear in the larger newspapers, they say there’s no signs yet of things slowing down in the local property market. Great news for anybody that’s thinking of selling or buying.
Managing Director, Benjamin Brain, said “We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved so far this year. There’s no doubt that it’s been a huge team effort with everybody at Hannells pulling together not only to sell properties, but to provide an excellent service and maintain our high standards.”
A key part of this success has been their flagship branch located on Duffield Road in Allestree. Officially opened in January earlier this year, the branch is already making its mark on the area and is providing a superior service to local buyers and sellers.
Allestree Branch Manager, Angie Taylor said, “Allestree is a fantastic part of Derby and it’s such a lovely community to be in. We’re committed to providing nothing short of an exceptional service to each of our customers and it’s what we work towards on a daily basis. We’re surprised that sometimes customers don’t realise just how much experience and innovation we bring to the table but the word is definitely out there now!”
Benjamin continues, “Most agents would be happy to sell in a year the amount of Derby properties we sell in a month and it’s because of our commitment to constantly improving and our huge local presence throughout Derby that we’re able to consistently remain way ahead of our competitors. We’ve been Derby’s top selling estate agent for almost a decade and it’s no accident. Not all estate agents are the same, far from it, and we prove that on a daily basis.”
There’s no denying that the Derby market has seen a noticeable upturn in activity this year but with talks of interest rate rises and property “bubbles” bursting, are things about to change? Not according to Benjamin:
“We’re confident that the interest rate rises towards the beginning of 2015 will have a minimal impact on the local market. Many experts are predicting tiny increases which is great news for the economy as a whole.”
And in regards to talk of market activity slowing down, “Lately, there have been some negative headlines about the property market. However, it’s important to remember that headlines can be deceiving. They should often be taken with a pinch of salt and more often than not, they are referring to the London property market which is an entity to itself. When there has been talk of the market slowing down, here at Hannells we’ve just had our best month of the year so far in July so we’re yet to see the effects of this”.
It certainly looks like the Team at Hannells’ six local branches is going to be kept on their toes for the rest of 2014 with no signs of buyer demand for property in Derby slowing down. With a busy four months ahead and some big plans towards the end of 2014, this could well be a year to remember for the independent, Derby born estate agency.
